whats happend to neighbours on bbc 1?

I loved neighbours (propably the only person who did!) and I just wanted know where has it gone? I normally have it recorded on my sky+ box but since Monday there has been no neighbours. Is it having a Christmas break or has it gone from BBC completely? If BBC is not having it anymore would another channel have it?

Neighbours is having its Christmas break til 7th Jan and then continues on BBC1 until it moves to five in Spring 2008.

I heard somewhere that the BBC were not going to be showing it for much longer as it was too much money to buy from the Aus Network in relation to how many viewers it pulled in the UK, I could be wrong though.
