sky plus
I will soon be moving into a flat that is already connected to a Sky dish, which means I wont have to pay the monthly charge. If I get a box I was told that there would be a monthly charge for renting the card, is this true? Or would it just be a one off payment on the box?

Also an engineer will have to come out to add an addistional cable to run from the dish to your Sky + box as well (Sky + boxes have 2 cables running in to them, unlike the normal Sky boxes that have just the one)
I can't see how, by already having a dish, you won't have to pay a monthly charge? You'll have to register with them and choose your packages etc, if you didn't have to the people would just arrange for an engineer to put a dish up for them and away they go, free Sky channels......??????

Leight0n, sorry, i may not have explained it properly. I'm moving into a brand new development and all the flats are connected to a sky dish, so all I would need to do is plug in a Sky box and enjoy. But my worry was, that somebody told me that you have to rent the card that goes in the box so there would still be a monthly charge.
This is the freesat from Sky - no monthly fee:
