"Yes, I understand. Ok then"

so basically Ive been seeing a bloke for about 6 wks untill I broke up with him a cpl of wks ago. He had been after me for years but I felt that I wasnt ready and never went for it. I then had a change of heart recently and went after him lol. So yeah 6 wks of bliss and then he mentioned a job abroad. I awaited to see where this would go whilst I made it clear to him that I rather jst have him stay here. This all came as a suprise to me because shortly before all of this we were talking about moving closer to each other and then suddenly he was talking about going abroad for a job...permanently! So I chose for myself and called it all off cos i felt like a right idiot. His response to it all was a simple...."Yes, I understand, ok then". Since then he hasnt been in touch and I have started to wonder whether he was ever serious to begin with. I have to admit I am tempted to jst pick up the phone jst to talk to him, bad idea I know.
So is it normal for a bloke to react like he was never bothered to begin with? Or have I jst been played lol

You chucked him without even having a discussion first apparently, why should he contact you? To make you feel better and wanted?
You haven't been played, you played him. He pursued you and you chucked him. He's probably tired of doing the chasing, and rightly so tbh.

You never know.... the guy might have been tongue tied and thought '****....right...well... what do i do now?? - just keep my dignity and accept the dump'
Why dont you ring him? If you really like him, you could at lease ring him and say why you dumped him just like that and you wanted to make a go of things in this country. Actually, i would arrange to meet up and speak to him. Much easier face to face. You never know what he might be thinking. Boys are notorious for saying one thing and meaning something else (ok, women are notorious for this as well!!)
