I recently visited the East Midlands and had the misfortrune to be confronted by an extraordinary individual who seems to want to give me the wink while giving me the weather...I refer to Des on the BBC East Midlands Today programme..Is he for real or a charicature.I cant decide whether to laugh at him or with him...LOL

I know what you mean janzman, he is a tad over animated for a news reporter but at least his voice is bearable so I just look away...
If you think he's irritating, maybe you didn't see Lucy Kite on ITV's Central News, she used to read the news but does the weather now? Think of a scary 1960s ventriloquist dummy, permanently grinning & eyelash fluttering, twittery voice & lots of head swishing from side to side....I hope I'm watching on the night she turns the whole 360�
