who else watched the repeat of 'Rising Damp' today, the episode when Rigsby thought he'd run over and killed his cat Vienna?

I've seen it several times but was still laughing out loud at it, on my own! (Yes I do have a life) A classic comedy programme, as good today as when it was first broadcast.

I was watching Reggie Perrin the other day and Reggie was living in a run down bedsit, he was dressed exactly like Rigsby in Rising Damp, I wonder if that's where the idea came for the series?

leonard rossiter was brilliant and as much as i respect martin clunes he and the remake are not in the same class.

I still love watching the re-runs of Rising Damp, cory - Leonard Rossiter's one liners are still as funny now as they were then.

He never did get it on with Miss Jones, did he !!

I've been watching these - a little bit before my time and I agree it is very funny. It also has a shock value for me as some of the things Leonard Rossiter says to Smith well, I can't believe some of the things that were said on TV back then!
