Follow up

Hi all, I posted the other day about my blood tests and I have just got the results. All tests were good except for the Elisa factor ?? which is indicative of inflammation and is supposed to be between 0 and 3 but was 238. I am making an appointment with doctor to discuss. He said that other things that should show up for rheumatoid arthritis did not show up. This I thinks rules out psoriatic arthritis but I have a definite rheumatoid factor there. I am a bit confused at moment. I am going to make a list of questions for the doctor but short term I want to manage the pain for my holidays. However the anti inflammatory tabs I have been on for the last week can only be taken for a short time (7 days) and they were just beginning to give a slight relief. So that's the story so far.

Thanks for the input, but Elisa factor is not a test result, it is a testing kit.

Unless you mean that the result of 238, was the Rheumatoid antigen factor, determined by the Elisa Kit.

As am I sqad - i tend not to hear things properly on the phone in these circumstances - its obviously a mervous thing and that is why I am making an appointment with the doctor. So as usual thank you so much for your input.

Right....I think that the result shows a rheumatoid process. but there a number of conditions that give a false positive to the anti Rh factor and these will be discussed with you by your consultant.

Sounds like RA.

it couuld be ESR?
you can't be rhematoid factor positive if you don't have rheumatoid i believe.
RH sero positive+ESR of over 200 sounds very very much like RA to me. I have RA and remember being diagnosed - it took a while to see a consultant so i really feel for you as i know what it's like

Thanks for letting us know what is going on.

It will feel seem better when you have talked to the doctor. At least then you will have answers, and know what is happening.

Hi Peri
At least they are sorting it out for you at long last . .Now you have some results they can probably give you some sort of pain relief and your GP will hopefully refer you to a rheumatologist .
