Whilst viewing Vampire Diary's this evening every time the adverts came on a notice appeared saying `Because of a legal reason the earlier programme cannot be shown` but when the adverts fini`d , the programme did continue. Can anyone explain why?

That message should only have gone out on ITV2+1. There are a few programmes where ITV only have the broadcast rights for a single showing of the programme. That prevents them repeating a programme from ITV2 on ITV2+1. If you saw the message on ITV2, someone must have pressed the wrong button.
