Hopefully everyone will remember the 70's kids programme Vision On. If I remember correctly, it was introduced by a woman called Pat who signed for the deaf as she spoke. It featured "The Gallery" with viewers artistic contributions displayed, The Professor (I think), a bloke in a white coat making massive pictures outside using a football pitch white lining machine, and Wilf Lunn with all sorts of mad inventions that always blew up at the end. It also featured Tony Hart before he went solo. Anyway, my question is, Does anyone know what the various pieces of music were? The theme tune was quite distinctive, and the regular features like The Gallery and The Professor also had their own tunes. Can anyone help, and does anyone have any other memoires of the show?

Wow! - Great stuff, Ursula!  Many thanks
Another piece of music used, but not shown on that site, is 'Gurney Slade' by Max Harris. I downloaded it from winmx, (or was it bearshare?) One of the two. If you could post email addresses on here, I'd send you the mp3. BTW, I'm on aol.
Something had stuck  in my head all these years.  Good old Pat always signed 'We're sorry we can't return your pictures but we give a prize for all those we show.'

"featured Tony Hart before he went solo"

I like that description !!!

I was about to mention the cuckoo clock bit - but that's the piece of music that sddsddean mentioned.

Oh, and the tortoise with the think bubbles....

I could go on.... ;o)

I think I need to look more closely at the website Ursula has suggested - I dont think I remember the cuckoo clock.  I do remember seeing fabulous works of art in the gallery with a caption below with "Charlotte, aged 11" or "Andrew, aged 13" and thinking "Yeah, right - their dad did that for them"
Hi just letting you know the the piece of music called Java was covered by The Beautiful South on the B side of the single ONE LAST LOVE SONG from 1994 hope that helps
The Gallery theme was Left Bank2. The Burbles music was Goofy. They also used a tune called Java. I hope this helps.
