Could somebody please tell me if University Challenge was on BBC 2 on Monday 20th December.Thanks.

Yes it was. I watched it. A team of girls only got hammered by a group of Lads. 70-275 I think

Yep,I watched it too,and as squarebear says the all girl team (sadly) was soundly beaten by the other (mixed) team.

It was listed in the (London/EastAnglia/Midlands edition of) Radio Times as being shown at 8pm on BBC2, with Newnham College (Cambridge) facing Bristol.

The BBC website shows it as being shown at that time, except on analogue TV in Wales and Northern Ireland. It's still available online:

thank you for your speedy reply. My mother insisted she had BBC 2 on, and it never came on. She must have been watching another channel.

yep it was on 30 minutes later than normal - the Beeb replay network, i-player?, may have it.....it was a woman slaughter though.

Yes. It was definitely on, as I always watch this then turn to BBC4 for Only Connect.

Was your mother watching in Northern Ireland or Wales, Mabel1? That would explain why she couldn't see it.

She was watching in Nottingham. But as she is nearly blind she often gets the wrong channel on.
