beloved... but costing me a fortune so it has to go :o/

so, I'll be borrowing £6-7k. I want something that will be a lower insurance group (this can't be difficult), small to medium hatchback, aircon, looks good, reliable, 2-3 years old max. something with a solid feel to it.

what would you suggest?

lol, yes RH. All our cars currently fit into the "knackered" "potentially knackered" or "expensive to repair" category!!!
audi a3 - very reliable and if you get the T, pretty nippy......
I do however love my clio and haven't had any bother with it, but Renault seem to be travelling down the driver satisfaction tables at a rate of knots - tops are Skoda but the Furby isn't too stylish IMO

can you stop trying to pass off your crappy cars, please?

lcg.. I've never had a diesel. are they more efficient?

annie, that actually looks quite nice, thanks! do you have one?

won't an Audi be thirsty? and high on insurance? I like them though :o)

annie.. I just can't do a Skoda. no no no no no!

about 28 to the gallon around town, 35+ longer trips. I pay 258 fully comp.
Absolutely RH!!!

Flounces off ;)
we used to have a 206 when they first came out, the 207 is the more up to date version. We loved it, we had a 3 door sports model in racing green with a full glass sun roof, it just about coped with junior no 1 - when no 2 was on the way we had to trade it for a renault scenic!! It was a really lovely wee car though - just big enough for adults in the back to be comfy but sporty with it.
I take it my Chrysler Voyager is out of the question too?
