I've got a car parking space next to my house, which is my area of land. As I live near a local restaurant, I quite frequently find people park in my space, meaning I can't park in my own space. I'm about to purchase a No Parking sign, but was interested to know legally where I stand.
Today for example, a woman parked her car there. I went out and asked if she could move it as it was private land (I wasn't rude at all). Rather than apologise, she said it didn't look like a drive (which it doesn't). I again asked her to move it, as my girlfriend needed to park there. She said "There'd better be a car there when I return", and then left.
I know legally she was tresspassing, but am I within my rights to block her car in? Or even build an emergency fence which will prevent access to her car?
I'll try a no parking sign first, just wondering how ridiculous I could be?
