My Mini, cooper s decided it wasn't going to recognise the key after I went into a garage. As a consequence I've had to abandon it there. LUCKILY not too far from home. Imagine I was!!!! Is this likely to be the key fob, or the recepticle?
Has this happened to anyone else? If so? How much???

To start, do not go into the dealers, for a local Auto Elec & get him / her to check out / replace the Battery.

Does the Key/Fob have a battery in it, that would be my first check.
hello, my daughter had the same problem, she turned it to quick & the transpontor did,nt read the key, what I had to do was disconnect the car battery (alarm did go off) then reconnect & its been fine so far..hope this helps...
