Two Question About Petrol

I have a couple of questions about petrol that have puzzled me for a while
both of which will probably condemn me as an idiot but here goes...

1. Is there any actual difference between petrol sold by the big names
My car seems to like Shell V power but am I imagining it?

2. My car seems to go better when there is more fuel in the tank
As in, when the gauge says I am down to 30-40 miles left it doesn't
seem to go as well. My only thought was that I am subconsciously
heavier on the gas pedal when I can see a nice full tank

BTW It's a V6 2.5 if that makes any difference

If DTC is around, you'll get chapter and verse (in fact, the whole book!) on this question.
Without doubt my Spitfire 1500 goes best on Shell V power bar non, and I have tried a few!
Well driving round in that car you must know more about petrol than anyone else.I bet no one buy`s it more often than you!!
Shhhhhh my car doesn't realise it could have a choice!

It was a bit of an impulse purchase -
It drinks petrol ! but it does go like Sugar off a shovel
.... which in a way is a bit of a shame since I can only
afford the insurance as I am 970 years old and my other
vehicle is a blue box. Also it only goes to Tescos and
back ( but so fast I'm home before I left ) so it never
really gets a chance to hoist it's draws up :-)

I only have a little car, and I had a little car before this one, but I always find it handles better when it's got a full tank.
My Mrs handles better on a full tank as well:-)
My car seems more responsive in damp weather. Extra hydrogen intake? A water injection system was marketed a few years ago.
1. I had a Vauxhall Belmont years ago that would refuse to run smoothly on Texaco petrol.
2. A few years later I had a Vectra 2.2DTI that would not run right at all when the tank was 1/4 or less. That was a very costly new fuel pump, thankfully covered by Network Q warranty
