Stop/start Driving
Hi
Recently bought a Peugeot 2008 automatic that has the Stop/Start feature while driving. When I stop the engine cuts out until I take my foot off of the brake pedal, at which time the engine fires up again. ,I don't really like sitting at traffic lights etc., with my foot on the brake as the brake lights can dazzle the driver behind me. My question is, does this feature really save petrol and so become Eco friendly ?? All opinions gratefully received !!
Many thanks

I could have saved quite a bit over the years when I had to drive through the middle of London every day; same for when the M25 comes to a halt. In non-megalopolis driving, perhaps it wouldn't have been so much.
Do your brake lights really dazzle people? If so, why not just put the gear shift into Park till you start again?
