Was looking forward to this as I'd enjoyed the previous series, but I just couldn't muster any interest in this: confusing number of characters/suspects, all of them unlikeable, and the central cartoon is risible and doesn't convince as something anyone would want to make a film of or kill for.

And there's some strange continuity things going on with Tom Burke's hair and beard.

Same here.  We liked the first ones but this is no where near as good.  Two episodes so far and I have managed to fall asleep for both.

I thought the same regards the cartoon - very amateurish. And i FF'd through all the 'will they or won't they' moments, which they've milked to the nth degree. It's all becoming a tad tedious.

Just be glad you're not ploughing through the book is all I can say!

i agree.  i dont think ill bother with the rest

ps no-one would play a game with such an 80s look and sound!

Tad tedious is a very good description. We didn't bother after episode 1.

Do we think Strike's undercover disguise of dark glasses and long overcoat meant to be funny?

just finished watching it all

it was ok  but only ok

and not as good as the others

a bit like miss scarlet and the duke ?

I'm so glad everyone seems to agree with me.  I loved all the previous ones and looked forward to this but what a disappointment!!! I struggled through the first two episodes and am going to delete the second two without watching them. I've got some paint I can watch dry!!

Gave up on this as I gave up on the book. Have read and seen all others.

Strike looks nothing like my idea of the book character.

We reluctantly gave up  after the first two episodes. It was boring and tedious to watch. Too many  characters, very little action and the cartoon stuff was just daft..

Having already invested two hours, I gave it a further chance - only to find it got even more preposterous and difficult to follow.  I wonder if the actors were watching and felt embarrassed.

Quite agree sir, Happy Christmas.
