car wont start

i have a vauxhall corsa r reg. i cant start the car. battery is brand new and the starte motor is ticking over but the engine just wont start. the fan belt is trying to go round but wont and the battery light is coming up. help please

Will your husband no why my boot wont open to my ford Puma without having to turn the key! i have tried to use the relise key and it doesnt work?

He says most probably because the central locking selanoid in the boot is not working
