what car should i get?

i have a choice between a top of the range astra, polo sport 1.9 TDi or an audi a3 1.6 special edition (fairly basic). which one should i get?

I would suggest roadtesting all 3 and see which one you like. The top of the range astra would have all the gizmos so i think most of us guys would plum for that. A3 is a cracking car though and the polo sport goes like sh1t off a shovel!

Easy this one, its the Polo all day long and heres the reasons why, cheaper road tax, cheaper on insurance and the most economical one to run. Oh and I almost forgot like birts already said boy are they rapid :)

I had an Atra estate for 5 years, 70,000 miles no problems with it, servicing cheap mpg good.

Fast enough with the 1.6 engine.

ok have tried all three - still can't decide - should have told you that bit. i know the polo is fast i have had one before and have the points to show for it. i kind of like the audi but not sure if its a bit pretentious

i have recently got an Audi A3 for the wife, it is a stunning car inside and out, great mpg as its a diesel, performance is fantastic and it handles perfectly.

the only downside, because we wanted it "NOW" we got one with leather,cd,air con but other than that it is fairly basic and i have noticed since we have got it they have changed the shape 3 times since 02???

audi by far a better car than the other 2 !better engine , safer,drive,ect

The Audi A3 is the nicest car out of them all and you will get a better return on it compared to the other two when you come to sell it.

a3 basic spec had tape player as standard when I was looking a year ago. Unbeleivable.

not any more - it has CD player, aircon and pretty much everything else. not going to be re-selling it so no worries about that. Thanks for the guidance

Hmm... slightly tricky one. I would say it's between the A3 and the Polo though.

I think I would go for the Polo and get the A3 next time around! My local VW dealer had a 55 reg (last Sept) Polo 1.9tdi with 130bhp and it was rapid to say the least. Definately a fun little car... with an engine you'll normally find in a Golf, A3, Octavia, Passat, A4 etc.
