Scrapping car

My car's head gaskett has just blown, and to get it fixed will cost more than buying a new one. So i was wondering how do you go about scrapping a car? because the car is a state and i can't sell it on.

scrap metal was �150 a metric tonne on the 14th of this month but the value seems to chang daily
