I have just read a post about scrapping a car at a company called Cartakeback.com where they collect for free and scrap your car and pay you what it's worth, in my case £145
Can i claim the unspent tax disc back from DVLA before i give it to them.

When you got your quote did they ask what tax was on it?

If so, then the tax disk is theirs

If not then it's yours.

Though it's worth checking their T&C
For a good return on your tax, send it back before the month's starts, as said, do not say anything about the tax.
You'll be able to claim the tax back, on the FAQs at CarTakeBack.com it says as long as you were the registered keeper of the car at the time of disposal you can reclaim any unused complete months.
