v w passat

My V W passat is an automatic and if i'm at a junction and try to excelerat quickly there is a slight pause before the car actually fires up.. is this normal with these cars or is this the case with all automatics

Check ATF fluid level and color.

Thanks for that eddie..it could well be the ATF i've booked it in for its 40,000 mile service so i will get them to check it for faults electronically then if no faults are apparent i will get them to change the ATF..thanks again sammmo
