vectra 2.0 sri cam sensor fault

anyone know whats the easiest way to fix this fault its a common one with vectra's, cam sensor fault, mine comes on now and then but engine wont rev past 4500rpm when its on its a safe mode thing for the engine. anyone with ******** let me know much appreciated.

Check the sensor for bad connections or any damage to the wire going to it, give it a good spraying of WD40 around the contacts, if that doesn't cure it you probably need to replace the sensor, they are pretty cheap and it's not a tricky job to change it, and if your really lucky the new sensor will last more than 6 months!!
You'll find the camshaft sensor at the top of the engine on the right hand front corner If I recall correctly.

Hi don't know if its the same, its for a Vectra 2.0 twin overhead cam ECOTEC ,but might be a close match if you follow the link it gives a picture by picture way to do it, link
