I'm thinking of buying a small, used car.

I'd appreciate ideas.

Criteria ...

Small
Hatchback
5 doors
Automatic
4,000 ish

Am I likely to get anything ?

good afternoon, Seagull.

there are plenty of 2nd hand cars out there within that price range. do you have those car supermarket places out your way? you can pick up some great bargains and get a warranty at the same time. but don't part exchange anything with them as they'll offer rubbish.

Hi, first bit of advise take a mechanic with you, there are many people out there that have come unstuck by going on their own instincts, do your price home work, check out other similar cars to the one you want, check out the HPI, check out the service history ( No history do not bye) depending what mileage, get cam belt changed as part of the deal if they say that will cost ?????? walk away, check the condition of the bodywork take a Magnet with you!! why? there are some good body work people out there, they can turn a cream bun into a Trifle if you know what I mean, barter for everything Tax, Petrol, Mats, service, Extra Warranty if no joy, WALK the dealers are after your money, just keep that in mind better still bye private although you have to be careful (This is where your Mechanic comes in) if buying) get everything in writing.
