Mercedes A - Class strange key
One of my family has just bought a V reg Merc A - Class and, apart from the usual ignition/door keys, it came with a strange, red, plastic key type thing. Does anyone have any idea what it might be for? It's not mentioned in the handbook.
Thanks,
Apes

Sorry people, I'm on my sister's lappy and got a dodgy internet connection.
NoKno, I can't access that link. It says it's forbidden!
Sara, it's been described to me over the phone and it definitely didn't sound like one of those. But thanks for taking the time to answer anyhow.
I'll suggest that it could be either an emergency key or a radio removal key. I don't know why they didn't just phone the dealer that the car came from! I had another idea, maybe it could be to unlock the petrol cap? Or would that have been too obvious? Never owned a Merc so I'm pretty clueless.

Just rang Mr Aprilis and he's also of the opinion it's an alarm key.
NoKno, sorry to keep you hanging, got a dodgy modem here that keeps deciding to stop working. Mr Apes says it's similar to that BMW wallet key. It's red plastic, approximately and inch and a half long, half an inch wide and it's got 3 little metal terminals on the end. Having not seen the thing myself it's a bit difficult to know precisely what it looks like and that's all the info I've been given.
