Ford Escort Drivers Electric Window

Very stupidly I just tried to clear some snow off my drivers side window in my Escort.  The window is electric and was frozen so something inside snapped.  I then pushed the button back up as you could hear that the motor had gone down OK although the window didn't go with it.  The motor is fine and works but it sounds as if there is a cable/chain caught around it?  Is there any way I would be able to fix this myself?  Thanks.

no mate. there is a cable that moves the slider up and down, and it is not servicable. you can normally get one as a complete unit from a scrapyard for around a tenner though. good luck.

yup you have busted it, try in the scrappy for a replacement unit.
