Hi I think i may have to get myself a new battery for a Mazda 6 shortly, The guy at Halfords tells me i shall need the radio code or else the CD/Radio wont work. How do i go about getting this code as i bought the car 2nd hand and he couldn't find the code.
The AnswerBank has a policy of banning direct requests for radio code and posts containing radio codes. The reason being that no one knows if you've stolen the radio or not.
Although, give your track record LindyLou16, the only thing you've stolen is Bob Monkhouse's joke book.
Good one New thank you
PS Ed When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realised that The Lord doesn't work that way, so I stole one and asked him to forgive me. .
I've changed batteries on several cars where I haven't got the code.
Just put jump leads from a spare battery onto the battery connectors before disconnecting the old battery and fitting the new. That way there is a constant supply to the radio.
Bit of a faff but works every time.
Hi lindy lou. I had to have my battery replaced earlier this year. Had it done at Halfords, and they used a device that just plugged into the auxiliary socket (cigarette lighter to us oldies). It provides a small current so that you do not loose any of your coded info. Hope this helps.
By the way I am not suggesting that you are an oldie, just that I am.
Cheers
