My OH needs a copy of his MOT certificate as he has lost his. Doh! Can you get a copy from the garage that did the MOT or do you have to write away somewhere for it? If so, does anyone know where (DVLA?) and is there a charge? Many thanks in advance for any info.

Yes - The simplest way is to go back to the garage where the vehicle was tested, tell them the approximate date of the test and they should be able to give you a duplicate certificate. The fee is £10.00.

If you do not have the details of the garage (i.e. You have just bought the car) The Vehicle Inspectorate (0845 600 5977) may be able to help
If it's not got long to go, have another test. Why waste £10?
All prescribed MOT fees are the maximum that may be charged, thus £10 is the maximum amount chargeable for a duplicate certificate.

Thank you all for your help. Back to the garage as it was only MOT'd a couple of months ago.
You can go to any mot test centre with your v5 as proof of ownership, they will print a duplicate for £10.
