CAR MOT
22 Answers
My Car, which is a FORD FIESTA ENCORE 5 DOOR MODEL is due an MOT very soon. My car has two faults which will fail the Mot. The back windscreen wiper does not work due to the motor not working in it. Also the boot has decided not to open anymore. That might just be a problem WD40 can fix if I crawl inside the boot.
So with these 2 problems does anybody know what it is likely to cost if I were to take it in with these faults.? I dont think I'll have enough time to mend them before the MOT.
Also, I plan to take it to KWIKFIT as you can get the MOT for £40 if you book online.
I know its difficult to say without looking at it but if anyone knows roughly the all in cost of what it would be to take it to Kwikfit with these faults?. Everything else should be fine.
Thanks

Do you have an f1autocentre near you? My nearest one is advertising MOT for £24.95.
Last year they could have failed my car because the rear central seat- belt was jammed and couldn't be used. Instead, the tester called me over and asked if I would like him to try a fix. He spent 15 mins. of their time, fixed it, didn't charge for it and passed the car. I was so pleased and really impressed with them.(After asking the manager if it would be OK, I gave the tester a fiver for a drink).

The rear wiper is not an MoT point Bobby, nor is the fact the boot won't open. The wiper motor is probably a basic electrical fault such as a bad contact (unless you tried to use it when it was frozen to the glass recently!). The boot could be the lock or the mechanism and will need a close look to determine which.
DON'T GO TO KWIKFIT! That's just my opinion of course but customer satisfaction comes a very poor second to the branch maintaining the weekly turnover figures. I applied for the post of KwikFit manager once and the area manager told me just that! Any manager seen to be failing is given a warning to increase turnover. If they don't they lose their job!
