I tried one for a couple of days when they were new,
(late 70s i think) but i couldnt get used to starting it.( no electric starter) being only 5ft 7ins and a light weight, I settled for a cb900 fz instead....a bit of a difference!
Thanks for that,I have an old English AJS so am used to the kickstart and a Jap 750 so have the best of both worlds,it just seemed a bargain and looked nice.xxx
The SR500 was the road going version of the XT500 which was the Enduro style bike launched in the seventies.
I owned the XT500 and covered quite a few miles. The SR I am sure will give you lots of fun, a lovely torquey engine, stick it in top grear and twist the throttle.
These can be quite hard to kick over especially when hot, but when you have the knack should prove not to difficult. If it's cheap go for it.
