Well Toureman, a 50cc scooter is restricted to enable a 16 year old to legally ride on the road, with 'L' plates and a CBT certificate. Therefore 50cc scooters are restricted to 50kmph (roughly 31mph). If you were above 16 you could obviously remove this restriction.
When you reach 17 (or of course you are any age above this) you can ride a motorcycle or scooter of upto 125cc but also with a power output not above 11kw. Therefore scooters are restricted to keep within these laws (unless of course it doesnt need restricting to keep within the law). A restricted 125cc scooter will do about 60mph Toureman, that's the only reason I queried you. Now have I answered you question?
So back to the original question, you can do anything with your scooter as long as it doesn't exceed 11kw. I would advise not to however as it's a 2 stroke, they aren't the most reliable when you start tinkering around with the engine etc.
