Well bless you for that. We had a "bike" day at work recently, people brought their bikes and everybody had a good natter and tried each others bikes. I tried one of these "sit-up-and-beg" monstrosities, the Brookes saddle, panniers and all. It felt horrible to me. Today I did 40 miles to and from and around work, and I rode a Kona Kula Deluxe mountain bike, light, 27 gears, sports saddle. I wouldn't have wanted to do it on a butcher's bike. It's horses for courses. Whatever you get, enjoy cycling, but always remember, the lighter the bike the better.
