i have a mark 1 focus, have water coming in boot area on right hand side via the bumper.i discovered this when i pour jug of water on this area.think it could be a split in the seam seal.have taken it to a local ford garage and they advised me it coming in through the lights, but this is not the case. does anyone else have this problem and what was the solution?

Get inside with a torch while someone plays a hose over the area.
It 'is' usually the rear lamp seal.
Check the outlet air vents in bodywork too.
if it had been a split in a seam seal it would of shown up long before, Ford only give one years warranty on waterleaks (ingress) as their argument is any leaks would show up within 12 months..
That doesnt mean that corrosion may not cause a seam to part though...there are only 3 ways in to the boot, drain channel, lamps & weatherstrip..its got to be one of them..
