How do you mean, cost? You have to buy a caravan and insure it, and make sure it's covered on your car insurance when you are towing - is that what you mean?
Like Boxtops, I'm rather confused by your post.

You need to buy, or to hire, a caravan.
You need to ensure that your car has the correct equipment (a properly fitted towing bracket and towing mirrors)
You need to ensure that your driving licence entitles you to tow the relevant weight:

You need to check that your motor insurance covers towing. (You might also want to arrange insurance cover the vehicle, and its contents, as well).
And, of course, you'll need to pay the site fees for the places where you park the caravan while touring.

Without further information about exactly what it is you want to know, it's hard to be more specific.

Chris
And you will use more fuel whrn towing the extra weight
might find some info here http://www.caravantimes.co.uk/
If you do a search there are plenty of other caravan specific sites where you might find more of the information you want.
more importantly you need to know you are covered on your licence
Or do you want somebody else to tow it for you?
Also be sure that you can reverse/manouvre it into a space when necessary -
some people don't have a clue - not saying its easy but you need a sense of direction & a bit of practice somewhere quiet !.
happy hunting.
Hi Simon, there's more to towing a caravan than what you think! it's a small version of an artic, on reversing depends which way you want the trailer to go, you go the opp with the unit ( Car) try it out first, get a few hints otherwise you will be like hundreds that I have seen " Jack Knifed" because they forget that the trailer is behind them & driving to fast.
About twice as much petrol as untowing : )
not much fun in my experience!......hard work really, you have to remember that the 'thing' is behind you all the time, reversing it into a space is a nightmare!..you use lots more fuel!.................did it once!.............never again!...........no holiday!.......
^ That's because you were tring to tow one of those Static caravans Welsh .. the 30 foof ones! ; ))
Allbags, no it wasn't that long!..............still hated it though!...............................never, ever doing it again!...............lol...................
We have a caravan and we love it. However I was wondering the other day whether caravanning will eventually die out due to the rising cost of fuel and emphasis on smaller more fuel efficient cars. All you caravanners out there, what do you think?
