Depending on it's age, I simply wouldn't bother looking. If it's brand new, then any servicing should be part of the deal, if not then (as with most new cars) it's virtually impossible to get to anyway, unless you own the right hydraulic lifting equipment and wrenches that defy physics and bend at ridculous angles. I had a go at servicing my Golf TDi. I gave up after half an hour, without even touching a bolt.

thanks rooster----my dad is 67 and as allways tried to do the servicing himself but i keep telling him engines have changed since his old ford anglia..the rover is 3 yrs old--so a little bit more modern than the old anglia--but not knocking the old cars they had more character i think.

No problem, I've always tried to do the servicing on my cars, but it's just got more and more difficult over the past ten years, and now it's just daft. Even my old man (67 too strangely) who got me doing it has given up trying.
