Remote car key

Anyone know how to adjust a car key for a Peugeot 406? I think the frequency is out of sync (?). The batteries are new but it won't lock or unlock the car remotely. The second key is fine.

Synchronisation
If the vehicle cannot be opened by pressing the radio transmitter button, it could be that the code of the key no longer matches that of the control unit in the vehicle. This can occur if the transmitter button is frequently pressed outside the effective range of the system.
The infrared (?) key must be resynchronized. The synchronization process must be completed within 1 minute:
1 - Press either the open button or close button on your radio wave key once for approx. one second. The vehicle will remain locked. The control unit, however, recognises a valid code.
2 - Now lock or unlock your vehicle using the key.
3 - The key bite is recognised as the valid mechanical code. A new code is defined between the key and the control unit. The synchronisation procedure is complete.
