Who would be a at fault if Joko had collided? (Part 2)

A couple of weeks ago, Joko was parked at the side of the road in designated bays that didn't not block the road at all...just behind him was a bus stop, not a bay sort, so the bus blocked the traffic for a moment...
as the bus had only just stopped, the way was clear for me to pull out...Joko checked his mirrors and there was no car beside the bus....so He pulled out...but as he did, a car overtook the bus and flew round into his lane.
They didn't collide but the other car beeped him... (the bastard)
To Joko's mind, he had the right of way here and he couldn't be expected to know that they were going to overtake the bus...He knew they might do, but he couldn't sit and wait on the offchance ... Joko said that he could not see a car overtaking from where he was, until it's out the other side so itd have made no difference anyway...
(post-addendum so he admitted to taking a risk in his attempt to "beat the bus" and speed down the road.)
Joko commented that surely they should have been aware that there may have been a vehicle in front of the bus and been ready to pause...
they are the ones performing a manouvre and moving into the wrong lane (not him)
but if theyd hit him...who would have been blamed?
He thinks that it is them...but questioned his own involvement and responsibility in this.
My question is, having assimilated the above reasoning, or lack of it, what would have been the comment from the bus driver?
