Why would parents think its a day out for kids in the supermarket?
I have no objection to one parent and kids but two?

Have they never hear of parks? And I dont mean car parks
Its tantamount to child abuse if you ask me

Oi!

A trip to Tesco is a day out in the Boo household! We also take a picnic
Maybe they were out somewhere first.
mrs kou picks (most of) the stuff to buy. i pay for it. we are a team. our children are well behaved and look forward to playing in the park after the chore is done.

work rest and play. all in it together. your problem, not mine.
Maybe they think it's none of your business- all ten of us used to go, so the kids could help plan meals and shop for what was needed for the house- it's part of teaching your kid to be a well rounded adult.
Really noxxy? We just take Mini along to annoy folk like Ric here, try it, it's very satisfying:P

I never took mine in the supermarket unless I could avoid it
Children look so miserable in there - no wonder some misbehave

Why would I object to one parent?
Don't want kids around you in the supermarket. Shop at midnight in a 24 hour store!
"I never took mine in the supermarket unless I could avoid it"

and you moan at us? poor kids!
I don't browse in the supermarket anymore, it's straight in, to the back to get the bread and then straight to the stuff I always get, it's bloody annoying but commercially understandable why supermarkets put bread and milk at the back, I still moan about it though.
I don't think children should be taken shopping at all until they are at least 25 years old have given up video gaming and are beginning to consider thinking about leaving home. Then they can be shown how to do shopping and what to do with the stuff they buy. :-)

Jomifl - or they could text their mums and ask them to get it
good point jomifl, wouldn't want them coercing with the omnipotent spud seller.
Jomifl, when I was young (many years ago) my mum didn't go food shopping. I was sent with money wrapped in a note to get the shopping at the local shops. No supermarkets of course but I went from grocer to baker to butcher to greengrocer. Or the message laddie brought everything on his bike. Changed days indeed.
Hmm. Ankou, that could have some unforeseen ramifications.
indeed. spuds have eyes. lots.

And as for them leaving home at 25 - thats far too old they should be forced out at 18 at the latest
I don't believe kids should be dragged around supermarkets by any number of parents/guardians. They'll get bored and want to play. Of course all AB posters kids are little angels and never do anything to disapprove of, but there are plenty who play up. Just look at the TV Calpol ad for examples; and those aren't the worst.
