Just returned from Blackpool, do you know that the Government has issued instructions that the Motorway Middle lanes "MAGNETS" are to remain in force to help them bloody idiots not to run off the Motorways.

I have driven to Blackpool on the motorway several times but I still have no clue what you are on about.
Ladybirder Chevrons are to indicate the correct distance from the vehicle in front nothing to do with lanes.

I understand 'middle lane hoggers ' but the idea of calling them Magnets that the government wants to 'remain in force' had me wondering.
Are there some instructions that keeping to the middle lane is correct that I have not heard of?
