OK I optimistically ticked the box which said I'd like to be considered for a FP but I think I'd be very lucky to get away with that. OK I'm prepared for the brick bats from the motoring evangelist wing!

And may I just say, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.....

,The least you can expect is £60 and 3 points. possibly with the option of a speed awareness course, £90 and no points, whuch is what I've just been offered but then again I was only doing 37 in a 30 zone you're way over the top.

You'd be wrong, snorky, my licence has been clean for 6 years. Do you always judge a book by the cover?
6 years. Mines been clean since I got it :-)
I thought that more than 30mph over the speed limit resulted in a ban. According to jack's link that is not quite always true, but it seems likely - along with 6+ points and a hefty fine.

Your real long-term penalty will be a huge hike in your insurance costs ...
Guy at work doing similar got 6 points and a hefty fine
Interesting site Jack

Looks as if magistrates only issuing bans for speeding in the most extreme cases.

Although there is a 90 in a 60 who got a 2 week ban and 6 points

On the otherhand there's an 89 in a 50 who got 6 points, £250 fine, £35 costs.

Guess it's down to what the circumstances were and the impression you make on the magistrates on the day.
Looks like the A190 and B3169 are best avoided...
clean for 6 years?
Mines been clean since I got it and that was well over 25 years ago!

See here - a ban is likely for you if these guidelines are followed
89 in a 50? Just WHY would you do that?
Whatever the courts may, or may not do to you, you can look forward to a big increase in your insurance premium when your policy needs renewing.

Yes, I'm a bad person, I must be given a sound flogging.
Only 89, is there something wrong with your car.

No option of an awareness course at that speed.
No tickets or points or accidents in 40 years!! And I am not a cautious old biddie driver either.
I got £60 plus 3 points for doing 36 in a 30. I should think with you going faster than you would on a motorway means you can expect a hefty fine and I should think 6 points. Were you caught by a camera or the police?
Chuckling at Mickrog's comment!!!
