Hi All

does anybody know if the price of lpg gas went up in the budget? Reason being that MORRISSONS have increased their price by 8 pence a litre or are they just capitalising on the cost fuel.

LPG rises in price in line with other fuels , it is just not as newsworthy as few people use it.
As you can see from this graph the price of LPG was about the same in Jan 2011/jan 2012 . An 8p increase seems a small price to pay.

Duty on LPG Autogas will rise by 2.87ppl on the 1st of August. At the same time, the duty on unleaded and diesel will rise by 3.02ppl. There was nothing in the most recent budget about this - this is the postponed rise. I suspect the reason you've seen the cost at you local Morrisons increase is due to the recent volatility in the cost of LPG which is effected by global demand. The barrel cost was around $800 last November then at the begining of April it was nearly $1,200. That, coupled with the £:$ exchange rate has seen costs rocket. Indications are that the cost of LPG for April should drop back somewhat.
