Old theory book and hazard perception dvd from 2006, would they still be valid?

I have an old theory book and hazard perception dvd with I think theory questions on it too.
Would they still be valid to study or have there been considerable changes making these redundant and a waste of my time?
Should I just get an up to date one?

well I'd imagine that any newer version would be a superset of these so It can't do any harm.
