What should be done about the influx of coachloads of Romanian pickpockets and prostitutes which are arriving in the capital every day?
For those who say life in our capital is no different now to what it was in the 50s, must be under a false impression, because we are moving very quickly towards being a third world country.

well, it makes a change from Colombians. They should be here soon. They come every year, as regular as house martins, and they are proper professionals. No homeless men for them. They are expert pickpockets, with a well-organised network and safe houses. They work Oxford Street any any shopping area that attracts tourists.

They have no money a) to steal and b) to pay for sexual favours.
What should be done?
Well, like me - those who are concerned with the plight of the homeless may want to consider charitable donations to Shelter. Our company takes part in a Give As You Earn scheme - money is deducted from your salary and goes directly to the charities if your choice, tax and NI free.
Other than that to answer the question posted by the OP, if you are seriously concerned about 'influx' of Eastern European thieves and doxies, you should vote for the UKIP at your local elections.
The only problem with that is not only will you halt the influx of the baddies, but it also means that I won't be able to employ the brilliant Polish builders who we've used the past two times we've had our house renovated...and that would be a very bad thing.

We all want the best builders and plumbers, come to that, and the best workers in agriculture. Shame that the foreigners are thought, or found, better than the British worker. Damn, we haven't got the best pickpockets. It's a national disgrace. Foreign pockets for British workers, that's what I say! (Foreigners make the best targets; likely to be carrying more cash and valuables, more likely to have high value credit and debit cards and more of them, less likely to be available at trial to give evidence, more likely to be unsure of where they're going and so distracted, and so on)

Yes of course it must be a lie, and all those photographs are of Daily Mail personnel dressed up and posing as Rumanian gypsies, and English police officers.

I know this area of London well and am often there - my company's HO is just around the corner - and despite the derision by some of AOGs Q, it is a very real problem.
Not only are these people a bloody eyesore, it is nigh on impossible to cross in to Hyde Park to sit on a bench and have a quiet sandwich without these people pestering you.
But then what did we expect? When the Euro Club decided to welcome the Romania's of the world, which is little more than a third world country, it was obvious many were going to make a beeline for the UK.
Not only are these people a bloody eyesore, it is nigh on impossible to cross in to Hyde Park to sit on a bench and have a quiet sandwich without these people pestering you.

First AOG has a go at a particular race/religion "infesting" our country and generally up to no good and then the "woolly liberals" arrive to defend their right to inflict their beastly ways on us.

Quite, aog. Now, would one homeless man reporting that he, or some other, had been robbed be national news? Sorry, but it's a hazard all the time for them in the West End, and probably elsewhere (can't say about my own area, because, if it happened, it probably wouldn't make the Cambridge paper).
It's the Daily Mail's use of it to suggest whole gangs of Romanian robbers are infesting the streets that puts the paper in a bad lighty; nothing in this unnamed, unidentified, homeless man's account is evidence. It is weaker than hearsay since he hasn't even said that anyone has said that they, personally, were the victim or witnessed it, which would be hearsay.
