A note on dusting: remember, a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture.

I used to spend 8hrs every making sure things were perfect in case someone came over.
Finally I realised that no-one came over; they were all out living life & having fun.
Now when people visit, I don't have to explain the condition of my home, they are more interested in hearing about what I have been up to.

If you haven't figured it out yet, please heed this advice;

Life is short. Enjoy it!!

Dust if you must but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake & lick the spoon, plant a seed, ponder the difference - want or need?

Dust if you must but there's not much time....
with shrimp to eat, rivers to swim & mountains to climb,
music to hear & books to read, friends to cherish & life to lead.

Dust if you must but the world's out there…
with the sun in your eyes the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come & it's not kind, & when you go - as go you must -
you, yourself will make more dust!

Maggie, may I add my mantras....

If you must look at my dust, don't write your name in it....

If you must write your name in it, please don't date it :-)

Excellent maggie, Lol @boxie
That's why I keep my teak furniture (not popular now)-you don't see the dust on it so much!
Brilliant maggie and boxie.
The same goes for ironing, and washing the bedclothes too often. Apparently one in four people are washing their bedclothes only once a month now, this is a trend in the right direction
The thought of washing bedclothes once a month make me feel a bit itchy. Once a week here
I can't remember the statistics for the people who washed their bedclothes once a week, but I remember it was a surprisingly small number.
I wouldn't wear a top or a pair of jeans for a week without washing them...So why would you not wash your bed linen...It might just be me but I get really hot in bed (No...Not like that :o)
I'm all for NOT doing housework, so don't ask me. :-)
LOL...Ok. I wont. I don't like housework either, but it has to be done
Love it
