Another question has thown up a curiosity, well for me anyway. Where does one speeding offence end and the next one begin? If I do 90mph constantly down the M4 for 30 mins for example is that one offence? Does the proximity of detection methods signify different offences, for example if doing the above I go past 3 speed cameras is that now 3 offences merely because it was detected 3 times? See what I mean? Anyone actually know this? It must be defined somewhere. thanks

Thanks for your thoughts people. It's a length of road I travel quite often and it always makes me smile when you get a car come screaming by me, anchor up when they see the camera and then accelerate away as soon as they've gone by it.
“would not the jury state...”

No jury is ever involved with speeding, TWR. It is a “summary” offence and can only be dealt with in the Magistrates’ Court.
paddywack in your example it is only one offence as long as it was all in one average speed check area.
But I have heard also of someone being banned for passing 4 seperate speed cameras in the same journey , in that case it is 4 seperate offences so 4 lots of 3 points = 12 and a ban.
Anything else would be ridiculous as it would be a 'licence to speed' after the 1st offence.
