If you damaged your car due to a pot hole etc, would you put in a claim? & also if the same happened on a Level crossing, what would you do?

For the pot hole I would have a look at fixmystreet.com (or similiar website) and see if anyone had reported the pothole already. If they had and depending on the extent of the damage I might consider a claim.

Similar would apply to the Level Crossing.

That's what I am doing at this present time Bill, for the 2nd time, it's Network Rail.
If you damage your car on a level crossing I'd say it was your fault for driving across it too fast.
I'm with Chuck on the level crossing.
Question Author
What makes you think that I drive too fast over the crossing Chuck? do you know me & the way I drive? & do you know the crossing & the state it's in?

I may have come over a bit harsh with my reply to you both, the Crossing in Q. has been in a bad state for about 3 years & they will not repair it, I have claimed in 2009 due to a broken Suspension spring on this crossing & N.Rail paid up, I have contacted them several times due to the condition of this crossing & the still will not put it right, on Monday of this week A strut collapse on my car again due to this crossing so again I am claiming, I do not care who is behind me going over this crossing my speed is 5mph ( YES 5mph) that's how bad it is, if others want to tears @rse over it then that's up to them, my car is very well maintained, checked often by myself, that also goes in checking the underside also, If N.R cannot take the time to inspect or repair this crossing then I will keep claiming if my car gets damaged due to it's state.
Report it elsewhere then TWR, it sounds like a Health & Safety risk to me, not just risky to your car. If it's that bad, surely it's a hazard to pedestrians too?

I wish you would not call yourself like that Mick, your not that bad. Hi Boxy, its the centre of the crossing that's at fault, a lot in our area moan about it but do nothing about it, but I will.

Get up a petition, TWR
You go for it TWR. And when the council can't afford to repair any of the roads due to people claiming, you will have won. Good on ya.
M-T, I assume that image includes Y-fronts on the outside!
Question Author
And when the council can't afford to repair any of the roads due to people claiming. the crossing belongs to N.R. Smart @rse.
