Beware of This Scam
10 Answers
Not sure if anyone has had this scam tried. A phone call from a very pleasant asian man informs you that you have a substantial amount of money due back because of illegal bank charges. He asks your date of birth to confirmyour ID and reads your address back to you, then continues to ask if you wish to be paid by money transfer or cheque and into which main bank account. When you state which bank he asks for the long number on your debit card. It was here i called his bluff and said that he should just send the chq to me in the post seeing that he had my address, he found some excuse that that was not possible, so I said that surely for me to have money owed by a bank he must know which bank I deal with and that surely its the banks duty to re-imburse me. Strangely he put the phone down on me. Beware someone somewhere is conned by these people!!

I told this very polite gentleman on the phone that this was a scam and that I wasinforming the police with that he hung up very rapid .WHF
I never knew that I had a family member that wanted to contact me but because they are impoverished I would have to send £50/£100 to them... Alas I have enough family members so didn't reply to my "cousin"..
I bet this cousin is the same as other peoples on here too.... Hey, does that mean we are all related? ;)

There are so many of these scams around at the mo, its frightening. I was rung the other day, woman asked for me using my surname, told me she was from Windows tech team, and there was a serious problem with my computer, but for a small fee payable on my card, it could be fixed straight away, and it would all be safe and secure again, I replied " I'm sorry my love, but I dont own a computer" she then apolgised and said she had the wrong number!!! wrong number with my surname, I dont think so.
