the boot light had gone so purchased a new bulb but is not the bulb it is the switch at fault does anyone know where this switch is located

Should be where the boot / hatch push's down on it when you close it.

It in the latch, worth checking the wire hasn't simply fallen of the connector, but you need to remove the latch to do so.

had to take it to porth electrics as the latch wires were ok fault was traced took 2 hours and cost £60
