Accident

i have received a letter from my car insurance today asking me why i havnt reported the accident i had on 11 feb 2013 , i havnt had any accidents and on that day it was thick snow so i know i didnt go out in car is there a scam going around ??

Not that I know of - contact your insurance company and ask them what they are on about. Sounds like someone else has made a claim and has given your registration plate as the third party. If you know your car didn't go out that day, it can't be you!

It happens sometimes - It could just be that the other party has taken down the reg wrongly. Contact your insurance company.

i tried but the claims department not open at weekend so got the weekend to stew over it im so mad its gotta be case of wrong reg no but it stressing me out

don't stress about it - it does happen quite often with registration numbers being noted down incorrectly. Chances are the accident was miles away from where you live and involved a different make, model or colour car. seriously nothing to get wound upabout - just a simple mistake, don't worry x

Don't let it stress you, put it to one side until Monday - it's clearly a mistake.

I keep getting speeding tickets from mobile cameras for a 08 Focus but my car is a 06 Vectra. The rest of the registration is the same. They must be using Tesco Value text recognition software because it is clear from the photo that it is an 08 registration, not 06. So if the boys in blue can make this mistake, insurers can too.

apparently one letter was wrong in the reg number it was a taxi that had an accident with the car which was not mine all well that ends well
