I Need Your Help!

MrsTTT wants to borrow my car it's 5 metres long hers is 3.5 metres long. She cannot go round a corner without hitting the kerb in her car, she cannot comprehend how I even get my car in the drive. We have just had a row because I related the above facts as reasons why my car will be quickly wrecked. Should I have just let her drive it and said I told you so when she smashes it up or should I just have accepted it as part of a relationship? The problem is I know with certainty what will happen but there is no way of preventing it without this sort of conflict! Thanks for listening.

Yes, I did read the post, I usually do..... if you didn't think she was fit to drive it, you shouldn't have her named on your insurance policy. (and no, it's not only third party for a named driver, it's the same as the policyholder's cover)

So why does she want to borrow yours, is there a good reason?

she's on the insurance boxtops because, innexplicably, it's £100+ cheaper.
alba I have never had a ault accident, was hit p the jaxy once, I have never even claimed off insurance.

Your biggest problem TTT, will be if she borrows it and DOESN'T crash it.
You will have no reason not to keep letting her drive it. Stick to your own cars

No, I didn't help - I'm just trying to see it from her perspective, and to understand why she's fully insured to drive when you don't want her to. I'm not on my OH's insurance, his car's far too big for me to handle - I wouldn't want to be on his insurance just to save money.

why would you not save money. Being on the insurance is irelevant if you don't want to drive but can save money so why not? I'd put my dog on the insurance If thought it would save £50!

I've never thought of it that way - his car is his car. Your wife must be seen as a much better risk if the premium's reduced if she's included - it'll be interesting to see if it's the same at renewal, now that female driver discounts have been knocked on the head.
