Myself and fiancee went to a financial advisor to set up our life insurance we requested this to be in each others names i think this is called in trust. unfortantly my fiancee was killed in a accident last year and i have since discovered that the company did not do this. our police numbers were 1 digit appart we said many times during the meeting the reason for the insurance was to help each other in the event of somethign happening and now due to there incompitence I stand to lose 100k
Worst yet the person who stands to inherite the money is my fiancees mother who was estraned from my fiancee they had not spoken in over 4 years and i know my fiancee would be furious about this she even refused to pay towards the funeral! is there anythign i can do I know i am screwed when it comes to the life insurance however i am only in this situation becuase of this company not doin gthere job
If you have written to the insurance company and they have investigated and you have given them 8 weeks to resolve the matter contact the Financial Ombudsman on 0800 023 4567, the FO may not be able to assist until you have given the Insurance company the opportunity to resolve the matter.
and slilvertain, I am sorry you were bereaved
and then had this to cope with...
Good luck - give them hell, fella
I f you have letters telling them to write it in trust mutually and they havent then you are half way there.
esp if you a letter from 'them' saying they have done X when they didnt.
