I put this question into Technology & only had one reply which did not answer my question so I am throwing it open to perhaps a wider audience.

I have difficulty stretching forward to affix Satnav to windscreen & have been looking in Amazon at the attachments that sit on the car dash. Do any ABers have experience of these & are they worth buying ?

you can buy velcro strips, they would stick to a sloping dash and would be strong enough to hold the nav in place. you could try that?

WR, I use a coaster, which I stick to the dashboard with a few spots of blu-tack. The coaster has to have a smooth surface, plastic/glass.

Thank you Sipowicz. Presumably your car has a flat dashboard mine is quite sloped, will this make a difference with regard to the whole thing being stable ?

Cheers mccfluff that's worth trying before buying something that may not work.

I must admit, I tend to listen to mine if I am just doing a short trip.
The suction thingy on the windscreen is a dead give away you have a sat nav.
(The marks they leave I mean)
Also, where I am a shorty, it sits in my line of vision.
I will have a fiddle with velcro too. Ta McFluff.
Hi, Ron....I haven't tried them but two friends have the Lakeland dashboard mats for sat navs and love them....x
My dashboard is sloped, makes no difference, the sat-nav has a suction cup so you can adjust to any angle! Much cheaper.
Farlewsat-nav is not in use I cover the coaster with a wooly hat! makes a good point about leaving marks, when the sat-nav is not in use I cover the coaster with a wooly hat!

gness do the Lakeland ones stick to a sloping dashboard safely ?

Ron.
Ron....I can't even remember what anyone's dashboard looks like...did call one friend to ask but she's out....

Looked at the Lakeland reviews...most are excellent but a few complaints so I guess you can only try....I suppose it depends on how sloping the dashboard is.

I have a sticky pad on my dash....for parking tickets, reminders etc so maybe that could be used too.
WR, before splashing out on an overpriced dashboard mat, try the coaster, you wont be disappointed.
